Although I was born and raised in New Jersey, I spent every Summer visiting my family in Puerto Rico. One of those Summers, my parents bought a their very first house there. The day I turned fifteen, I told my parents I wanted to make the life changing decision of moving to Puerto Rico. So we did. This humbling experience allowed me to appreciate the smaller things in life and motivated me to find my purpose.
Once I turned seventeen, I decided to come back to New Jersey on my own and work hard towards the life that I truly wanted.
It was then that I wrote down everything and anything that I wanted in my life before ever being employed as a high school senior.

how i became nINAMOONLOVE
——
I’ve always been a little girl with big dreams constantly leaning towards the creative side of things. Listening to music, dancing, drawing, anything involving the arts was something that I wanted to do for the rest of my life. For a Jersey girl living in a traditional Puerto Rican household, being ‘creative’ wasn’t always acceptable when it came down to choosing a career. These specific dreams were classified as ‘just a hobby’ or something that should never be pursued. Instead my father would always tell me, “Selena, make sure you go to school and get a degree in something valuable.”
So what did I do?
I did both.
Fast forward to today, I was able to pursue things that I never knew would be possible. From being a Dance Instructor for three years, interning for New Jersey Radio Station 101.5 FM, graduating Montclair State University with a degree in Business Marketing and a Minor in Entrepreneurship, becoming a Social Media Manager/Marketing Assistant for various companies, a choreographer/dancer, a creative director/videographer/video editor, creating and collaborating with unique artists to inspire the world to follow their dreams, and creating the brand “Ninamoonlove” in which I inspire and motivate artists/young entrepreneurs of all classifications to continue to pursue their passion.
The possibilities are endless and so is your dream list.
I realized that this creative side of me was IMPOSSIBLE to get rid of. It was a part of me who made me who I am and the reason why I love what I do. Whether its marketing, video editing, dancing, connecting with creators or simply staying true to myself… I have promised to live my life with a purpose.
